Coaching that starts with your athlete.

What does your athlete genuinely look forward to right now? It might be a game, a favorite song, or seeing one particular friend. That’s something we’d love to know before they ever walk into the gym. And if they show us their answer instead of telling us in words, we want to learn what that looks like, too.

Two ways to train at GSA

Small groups

GSA Group

We start class in our Golden Circle. Athletes and coaches sit together, check in, and talk about our Word of the Week. Some days the circle is quiet. Some days you can hear just how happy everybody is to see each other. Then we get moving. There are generally up to four athletes per coach. A coach might adjust one athlete’s task, then step over to help their teammate.

Individual support

GSA Private Adaptive Coaching

Work one-to-one with an adaptive-certified coach on a goal you choose. Maybe you want to get up from the floor more comfortably or find a way to ask for a break. Your interests, how you communicate, and the support you prefer all help your coach decide what to try next.

$135 per 60-minute session

A one-time $175 assessment and program design fee applies when needed for private adaptive coaching. Group-only participation has no assessment fee.

What would you like us to know?

What does your athlete look forward to? What makes a new room easier to walk into? Tell us what you wish a coach had asked you sooner. If your athlete wants to tell us themselves, we want to hear from them, too.

Some athletes enjoy both Group and Private. A skill you’ve been practicing with one coach might be something you’d like to try alongside a friend. We’ll talk about your preferences, how each setting feels, the support we can safely provide, available space, and any funding approval before recommending a combination.

Those first 6–8 weeks matter because our coaches are learning your athlete’s language. A pause might mean they need a break. It might mean they’re thinking and would like another second. The better we get to know them, the better we can tell the difference. What you notice helps us along the way.

Getting Started Is Simple

  1. Reach Out

Tell us a little about yourself or the person you’re supporting. A name, a way to reach you, and what brought you here are enough to start.

  2. Let’s Get to Know Each Other

Tell Coach Henry what you’re hoping for and ask what’s on your mind. If a short Getting to Know You form would help us prepare, we’ll explain why and ask if you’d like to use it. You’re welcome to talk first.

  3. Experience GSA

We might explore watching a class, a supported Group trial, or a Private assessment. We’ll talk through your preferences, support needs, and what’s available before making a plan.

For caseworkers, Independent Facilitators, and FMS contacts

Functional Speed Academy LLC is the legal provider and billing entity. Golden Strength Academy is its specialized adaptive program. Group and Private Adaptive Coaching are distinct, nonmedical services.

Using Inland Regional Center (IRC)? Ask your service coordinator which authorization and payment pathway applies. We’ll send your family a service summary with the proposed coaching, frequency, and cost.

Using Self-Determination or Financial Management Services (FMS)? Share the summary with your service coordinator or Independent Facilitator and your FMS contact. Your planning team confirms the service and spending plan. Your FMS can confirm provider setup and billing requirements.

Funding depends on the individual’s eligibility and written approval. Before funded sessions begin, confirm the service definition, frequency, dates, amount, and payment arrangement. We’ll provide any additional paperwork directly.
