Family questions
& funding.

Maybe you’ve got a question about funding. Maybe you’re wondering what our coaches would do if your son or daughter wanted to watch the whole first visit. You can start here. And if the answer depends on knowing your athlete a little better, we’d love to talk.

Who will coach me or my family member?

New athletes work with the academy’s coaching team. Every coach has experience with the special-needs community through work, education, or family. Tell us how you learn best and what you’d like to do. We’ll talk through the coaching options with you.

Meet our coaching team.

My athlete likes to watch before joining in. Where should we start?

What do they like to see first? For one athlete, seeing who goes first is enough to make the room feel familiar. Another might want to watch the whole activity before deciding. Tell us what works for your family. We can talk about observing a class, what support we can offer, and what’s available.

What if my athlete communicates without speaking?

Tell us how your athlete makes a choice, asks for help, or shows they’ve had enough. A gesture, a communication device, or a change in body language may tell you a lot. Our team will talk with you about the support your athlete needs and whether the program can provide it.

How much personal support is available in a GSA group?

GSA Group generally has up to four athletes per coach. Each person gets coaching during the activity, and the coach moves among teammates. If you need continuous one-to-one support, tell us so we can discuss what’s appropriate and available.

Could we observe a class or try a session first?

Let’s talk about what you’d like to see or try. We can explore an observation, a supported Group trial, or a Private assessment together. Our team can confirm fit and availability after that conversation.

Can we use Regional Center, Self-Determination, or FMS funding?

That depends on the participant’s eligibility and written approval. Our Funding & Caseworker Information section has both public guides and the steps for your funding team.

What does Golden Strength cost?

Group coaching is $350/month once weekly or $700/month twice weekly. Adaptive one-on-one is $135 per session. A $175 initial assessment applies to private adaptive coaching when needed. Group-only participation has no assessment fee.

What’s the difference between GSA Private and a Private Speed Session?

GSA Private is individualized adaptive coaching at $135 per session. Private Speed Sessions focus on acceleration, sprinting, or changing direction for your sport. If both sound like you, we can talk through your goals and confirm the coach and fees before you schedule.

Can I ask about training after an injury?

Yes. Our team considers occasional requests from athletes who have been cleared to resume training. Request a Discovery Call to talk about the activity you want to get back to and whether coaching is a fit.

Does Edge Speed Hockey train on the ice?

Edge is off-ice athletic development. Players train in small groups during a 16-week block. See Edge Speed Hockey for tuition and placement.

Where are sessions held?

ICON Fitness Studio, 38397 Innovation Ct, Suite 104, Murrieta, CA 92563. Open driving directions.

How do I speak to a coach or ask about openings?

Request a Discovery Call through the academy’s inquiry form, call (951) 347-4090, or email the academy.

Have a different question?

Send us your question. We’ll follow up personally to talk about your goals, what’s available, and where you might like to start.
